Good evening!
Today was another crazy day for my immediate family as my mom had arthroscopic knee surgery this afternoon. It was successful and she is home resting right now. I spent the afternoon at Park Ridge with her then went up to see my dad. It isn't fun to have both of your parents in the hospital on the same day but I am proud of both of them :)
I had a fun night with my dad. We watched the Yankees game and chatted. He is so funny and smart. He initiated and followed conversations and asked me questions about work and Bennett's current bike ride around Lake Ontario. That is all very promising and shows that his memory and ability to retain information seem to be improving. Obviously, he still gets frustrated but I just keep telling him how great he is doing and how proud of him we all are.
Thanks for checking in!

Thanks for the update on your mom and dad, Lindsey. They really should do a movie about your family. Imagine the cast:
Walt - Chevy CHase
Patty - Beverly D'Angelo
Lindsey - Juliette Lewis
Brian - Johnny Galecki
Imagine the zaniest times your family has had...oh, say at Christmas with your dad fighting with lights and the tree or perhaps with your dad stuttering and bumbling while trying to buy "special" lingere for your mom. It would make a great movie.
Anyway, tonight (Thursday, June 14) is movie night at Walt's room. Stop by to see, "National Lampoon Christmas Vacation".
wish we could be there. Patty hope your recovery goes well.

Very Cute Miss Emily!
Gino, don't know if we can make movie night tonight. Bummer that. Rick just got home from a trip. I have a lunch date with Walt though.
Enjoy the movie
Cheers

It's fun to see our son's name mentioned in relation to Walt's recovery.
Also the "Vacation" movies are fantastic, sorry we'll miss the show.
I saw Walt about 4:00 on Wed. We talked for about 45 minutes. The bike trip, bad food, cars. I was impressed by his ability to carry on a normal conversation. He mentioned some of the people who had visited so his memory seems to be improving. Steve the nurse came to take him to dinner and Walt said he didn't want to go, he couldn't keep the food down
