Quick update

It is 4:30 AM and we just got back from the hospital. My dad is in the Medical ICU for now. When we left, he was stable and he was breathing much better than earlier in the evening. He is having a whole battery of tests to try and get to the bottom of this. For now, it is better if nobody goes to visit him until they pin down what is wrong. Also, since we will be up there with him, it is better not to call the house. We will post more information as we get it.

As everyone at Strong told us, this is a fairly normal setback for a person with his injuries. Thanks for the positive thoughts and comments. We love you all :)

Patty, we're sorry to hear of this set-back. We have been praying a great deal for Walter. Hopefully, he will begin to show progress once more.

I am convinced that we have to stay strong. Obviously, Walter is remaining strong. :-)

I'll say an extra prayer for Walter this morning.

Love to you, Lindsay, and Brian,
Don & Katy

Hi Patty and family,

I still know that Walter will come around. It is hard because the unknown is a bit unsettling. We are praying for you Patty and your whole family!

Love,
Cousin Debby

Keep the faith guy's. Walter's recovery to date has been remarkable and will continue to be so. This blog is fantastic and we look forward to the daily updates. We are anxious to get up and see him, so let us know when the green light is back on. Our prayers continue to be with you.

Hey Lindsay. I heard your dad was moving back to Strong before it happened, I think. Jimmy was working on the ambulance and heard the call come in. He went to see Walter and said he still looked real good and that this is fairly normal... like you said. This is a small set back in the scheme of things. Walter will pull through and he'll be back at rehab before you know it. We'll wait to go see him until he is stable and back at St. Mary's. It's still amazing to me when you think of where he was a few weeks ago. I never would have believed it if I hadn't seen the changes in Walt with my own eyes. Love to you and your mom and brother... Tip, too! Jimmy and I wish Walt well. He'll get through this infection before we can bat an eye!!
