Hi all.
Patty and I have just left the hospital as Walt has been stable for several hours. He is still on the ventilator but has been able to maintain his blood pressure for several hours without drug support. His heart rate has dropped to 115. He still has a temperature but it is not as extreme as earlier in the day.

Walt has battled so hard all day and seems to be gaining a little on the infection. Lets send him lots of 'cool' thoughts. Patty and I have been reminding him of how cold it was when we went skiing at Killington this year.
When we left his nurse Nickie was about to give him a shave. Say goodbye to the moustache walt!
Goodnight

Hi Patty, Lindsay & Brian,
Thanks for your info. and updates; we appreciate it at this very sad setback for Walt. We just can't believe what's happening to this poor guy and all of you. Hopefully, the doctors are now treating this infection correctly and this will be the end of it, and he will make a full recovery. We are thinking of you all every day. I think Walt needs complete rest right now, and Dick and I are going to give it to him by leaving him alone for now. We'll have plenty of time to see him when he starts to get a lot better, and he will. Again, Patty, if there's anything you need, PLEASE CALL US. Take care and All the Very Best. Love Bernie and Dick
I just want to take the time to thank everyone for their love and support at this time. Please feel free to come up to the hospital and see Walter or just hang out. Walter is aware when we talk to him and would love to hear his loved ones voices (friends and family). Please continue to pray for him at this time. He is a fighter and I know we will be cooking those burgers by summer! We love you all!!!!

Lindsay, Patty & Brian,
I just wanted to let you know that I have been thinking of you all from the very day I heard about the accident. I just received this website from my mother and what an amazing idea! I ask her everyday if she's heard any news from Lori regarding Walt's status.
I worked at Park Ridge for some time 2 years ago, and I recently switched my major from Nursing to Physician Assistant - and I can tell you, the bumps in the road are to be expected, but don't let them hinder your pride and hope as they are only temporary.
In talking with Stacy and Dennis, we all agreed that if there's one man from the Copperfield Ridge neighborhood who could overcome such a thing with such great strength, it's Walt! It's great to see how committed you are to helping him heal - this too, will make all the difference in the world as far as convelesent time.
Well, what was going to be a quick note turned into a book; my apologies. I just wanted you to know that even though it's been years since we have spoken, our history always brings us full circle and my prayers and thoughts are with you everyday. Keep the updates coming!
