Step One: Surgery
I just talked to my mom and my dad made it through surgery okay. He was just coming out of the recovery room and they were trying to get him his own room as an attempt to circumvent the threat of infection. He had the bone flap put back on and a plastic surgeon put some new skin on his head where there was substantial scarring before. His whole head had to be shaved again. I don't know what room he will be in but once he is settled, visitors are certainly welcome.

Hi Walt,
I look forward to seeing your newly restored cranium. Stay away from sharp, magnetic objects. See you soon.
Gino
Patty,
Thank you so much for the phone call - we are relieved and happy to hear Walt's surgery went well. Gino called the hospital, but Walt had not been assigned a room yet. Hope that delay gets resolved soon. We will both visit this week. When is your knee surgery? Keep us posted on how you are doing.
What a milestone for Walter!!
Walt, we will see you very soon

Rick and I joined the Rabitzes and Aunt Anna at Olive Garden on Saturday night. It was such a blast to see Walt, Patty and Tip arrive in the Chariot. I asked Walt how he was doing and a got a Walt wry smile and a "Super". It was a lovely meal and a very heartening way to prepare for Walt's surgery.
Betsy and I continue to follow the Walt's progress. Amazing!
